Mental Health in Transportation:
What You Need To Know

President
Safe Harbour Consulting
We all have mental health the same as we have physical health. Just as we are concerned about the physical health of ourselves and the people we work with, we need to be concerned about everyone’s mental health and well-being.
With all the issues constantly bombarding us - from work, from home, from coworkers, from family members - it's no surprise that one in five of us are living with a mental health challenge in any given year.
This session will bring to light how we view mental health in the workplace, and help employers and workers begin to break down the stigma surrounding mental health to lead to a safer, healthier workplace.

Diversity in Transportation:
Bullying, Harassment, and the Acceptance of Others
Dave EarlePresident & CEO
BC Trucking Association
Personal conduct in the workplace has never been more important to your company’s success than it is today. With the increased focus on psychological injury and mental health in the workplace, companies must ensure that employees clearly understand and demonstrate acceptable behaviors.
BC has required provincially regulated employers to address bullying and harassment in the workplace for many years and this fall, the federal government will require all federally regulated employers to develop similar practices.
Dave will review provincial and federal standards, discuss real-world examples and case law, and will provide tools and templates that employers can apply in their workplaces.
